I was egosurfing just now, looking for mentions of my work, and stumbled upon a readers' blog where the reviewer seemed to have liked Point of Honour but inveighed bitterly about the historical inaccuracies. The problems she cited, however, were all part of the alternate history of the book; because she was exasperated by the errors, her tone was exasperated. Because I was exasperated at being mis-read, I feel like writing her a note and explaining the alternatey to her. But I won't, because grownups don't talk back to readers.

They just feel like it. I really should know better than to ego surf...
