Let Us to the Marriage of True Minds

That was a just about perfect wedding: the weather obliged, the venue was gorgeous and thematically appropriate (a Victorian manor house on the verge of the bay shore), the food was swell, the company excellent, and the bride and groom just about glowing in their happiness. desperance wore a black, custom-tailored, Victorian frock coat; emerald green waistcoat; frilled shirt and green cravat; and a top hat replacing his customary cap. He looked stunning--and not at all costumy. In another life, I think the man was a dandy. And the bride--wow. klwilliams wore an emerald green Victorian dress--late period, slightly bustled, and a black hat with green feathers. Victorian costume is not my weakness, but perhaps, if it looked that good on me, I'd consider indulging.

And of course, their best accessory was their delight in each other, and their pleasure that everyone had come to see them launch on this new adventure. deborahjross anddavetrow were there, and calendula_witch and markferrari, and berry_k and his wife, and, oh, just a host of folks, many of them in Victorian garb to suit the occasion. As I was lugging cake and tools with me, I did not lug costume bits as well; I let my cake do my period talking for me.
