I am so thankful for my family, even when they eat my brain.

And the dog, who is just love and neuroses, wrapped up in fur (which sheds). (I suppose the same could be said of my family, minus the fur.)

I am thankful that I'm writing, although slower than I like.

I'm thankful that my father is still around, irascible and colorful and loving, at 97.

I am thankful that several of my aunts are still with us (particularly my favorite aunt. You Know Who You Are!) and that my brother has a terrific family that he loves (who loves him--even though he called me at 7:50 this morning to worry that "As The World Turns" is going off the air and what would Grannie say and...oh, never mind.)

I am thankful for my friends on this coast and in the east, and all the ones in the middle of the nation.

I am thankful that I still have an hour before I have to start seriously cooking.

And I'm thankful for all the friends I've got here and elsewhere in the Great Phosphor Universe, and all the things I learn here every day.
