It's barely November and the Christmas commercials are coming thick and fast. Walgreens is filling up with cards and Christmas pelf. Only the supermarket, slowed in its Christmas preparations by the regrettable necessity to provision people for Thanksgiving (aisles of pumpkin pie filling and stuffing, frozen turkeys as high as an elephant's eye).

Jeez. Give a guy a chance to breathe, will you?
