Despite my booted self and the face-ache, I have been baking like a madwoman this weekend.
Cake One, a birthday cake for Margaret Brodkin, a local children's advocate who is running for School Board (San Francisco school board elections are some of the nastiest I have ever seen, and the woman has been blitzed all season long) to be served at a fundraising party yesterday. She knew about the party; didn't know about the birthday cake! Her campaign logo is this:

What was requested was a cake sorta like the one above. Per the party organizer, it was a great hit!
And today I'm finishing up a much larger cake for Tachyon Publication's 15th anniversary party. It is currently frosted, the fondant medallion in place, and awaiting the lettering and outlining. Frosting, you see, does not require two legs (tho' hopping about from oven to mixer to kitchen table gets old fast).
