I go back in two weeks to be checked out, after which I can start walking (with the boot-cast) and I'll be allowed out of the boot long enough to take a whole stand up shower (I have learned to shower while sitting in the stall with my foot out under the curtain, but it's just not as satisfying an experience).
Afterward we stopped at the cobbler so I could pick up a shoe that had been repaired. Then we went out to lunch. Now I am home, and I am exhausted. I'm out of training for being out in the world. So the foot is up again, the icepack is icing again, and I'm slouching toward a light doze...
