A Moment of Ulp

So I'm sitting here, having blogged my brains out, about to take my laptop and hit the coffee shop and start ramping up to Book again (since Christmas break and last week were eaten by bears) when the phone rings. It's someone from California Pacific Medical Center, asking for me. Hmm. About a mammogram I had back in September. But before they can tell me why they're calling, they need to confirm my identity with a few brief questions (DOB, address, mother's maiden name). By the time she told me the problem I was having one of those full-body panic flushes.
It was only that our insurer had done something boneheaded that needed to be fixed up so that the claim could be paid. But that sixty seconds or so between "This is about your service in the Breast Center in September" and "Thank you; we're having some trouble processing that claim" was real long.
It't not like I don't have any excitement in my life or anything.
