Big Cake Week

madrobinsToday, as I mentioned already, is Sarcasm Girl's birthday. She wanted a Helium Cake. Who is Helium? The animated companion of August Strindberg, of course. With a cupcake for a hat. So I made a tiny matching cupcake, and then I made Helium. Sadly, my royal icing ran a little as to the legs--but the birthday girl seemed pleased.
Later this week I am going to make a sheet cake for 80 for the Faculty Appreciation Luncheon at Avocado's school. They're hoping/expecting a cake with a picture of the school on it. This may be more ambitious than I can handle, but I'm going at least to approximate the front door of the school. On second thought, maybe the first view would be easier.
Also this week, I'm working on the fondant ornaments for my Wiscon cake. That should be interesting.
