Okay, This is Odd

I'm missing a chapter of the WIP. Not like "I suddenly realized I need more information there" type missing. Like "I totally recall having written this chapter and now I'm damned if I can find it anywhere on my hard drive" type missing. Chapter 3 sets it up. Chapter 4 goes directly to Other Things Happening. And all the writing I did yesterday is predicated on the stuff I set up in the missing chapter.
::cue Twilight Zone music::
I remember specific phrases and images from the missing chapter. I'd say "maybe I wrote this out longhand," except that I can remember the words forming on the screen (when I've been typing a lot I start to see everything I'm saying typed out in my mind as I'm saying it, but without, regrettably, the backspace feature, so this isn't as odd as it sounds).
So I spent my journal time this morning trying a) to figure out where the hell this chapter went and b) deciding that the WIP will not only not require me to rewrite that chapter, but will be stronger for its omission, because I'm going to get that information in here, now, without the reader (or author) having to go over it all again. Because it will be fresh. And this way it underlines some character business with the protagonist which is going to show up later, you bet.
Still: where's my wandering chapter?

berry_k) found the file and sent it back to me. I did not hallucinate. Now: do I want to use that chapter or fold it all into something else?
