Portability
4/11/14 09:16Yesterday I had two interviews, one for a job that is out there in the future, but not quite ready yet; the other for a non-profit job that is "please God fill this right away." Will see what happens. The chiefest problem with the non-profit job that I can see is that it would take a minimum of two buses and almost an hour to get there--and it's not a nice commute like the one I had to Palo Alto. Still...
On the strength of that, I have my laptop and Miss Tolerance notes, and am at Skywalker Ranch today, having gone in to work with Danny (so that I can see a screening of Interstellar here tonight). I basically find myself a hidey-hole in the hospitality area (there's a fireplace niche with bench seats, Wi-Fi, and lots of plugs which is my favorite perch) and will spend half the day looking for work and half the day writing. With appropriate breaks for meals, and perhaps a walk. I really love that I can pick up and do all the things I need to do with just a Wi-Fi connection and my cel phone. Nice, living in the future.
