It has been a very successful and enjoyable convention--for me, at least. Did two panels I think went well, did not embarrass myself during "Who's Line Is It, Anyway." Had people at my kaffeeklatch and at my reading. Got to go to the Hugos reception and Hugo Losers party, stayed up way too late, and talked to many people. I've met folks in real space who I had formerly known only online (hello,
joycemocha) and seen old friends I hadn't seen in, like, forever. Or at least far too long. And I just sat in the hot tub for almost an hour, reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, which is fascinating. Bought books. And T-shirts for the grubby young. There will be dinner and probably more jollity tonight, and then back over the mountains, through the hills, and back to the fog.
I will say, staying in the desert for a few days, I have a new appreciation for why my mother and aunt used to call the sun "The Enemy."
