Tired is the Enemy of Smart
3/8/11 22:08Having survived a corset and a coat, I decided to make a dress to go between them. Well and good. I chose really simple blue cotton broadcloth, with white cotton to line it. Easy peasy. Add some ribbon around the wrists and hem and a little crocheted lace and I'm all demure and stuff.
Except that I have twice botched things (I set a sleeve and sewed it in place before I realized it was inside out!). Because I was tired (when I screwed up the sleeve) or distracted (twice stitched over something that did not want to be stitched at all). Today's lesson: when you're tired/distracted, check twice before you stitch OR just turn off the machine and do something else. Almost anything else.
