Sarcasm Girl was in a course on graphic novels last semester, one of the requirements of which was that she make her own graphic novel (It was terrific--a repeating nightmare about school and life, with a rather sweet sense of humor about it). At the end of the class, various students decided to enter the thing in a competition.

So today she gets the word: she and another student will share the "Best Overall Comic" prize in the The First Annual James O’Keefe Prize for Graphic Literature. A cash prize (a small cash prize, but cash is always appreciated). So that's the Good.

The not-so-good is that my Dad is back in the hospital again; he's not getting enough oxygen, which is making him tired and, therefore, making it hard for him to do the rehab and eating he needs to do so that he can build up his strength. I am hoping that that's the way it will play out. Prayers, good wishes, healing thoughts all welcomed.
