Signs:

• The heat was on when I got up this morning.
• We put the flannel sheets on the bed yesterday.
• The freezer is full of turkey.
• The fridge is getting fuller and fuller of pie makings, vegetables, and butter. (Butter is the hero of Thanksgiving.)
• The dog is shedding more than I thought possible.

Avocado made dinner last night! Bruschetta with a ricotta, tomato and mint topping; mezze penne cooked with tomatoes; a strawberry mascarpone dessert which she hadn't realized wouldn't be ready until today (oops). But that gives us something to look forward to tonight.

I love it when she starts obsessing about the Food Network.

Over on my Sarah Tolerance website I have a lengthy explanation of why the Prince of Wales in Point of Honour and Petty Treason is different from the historical Prince of Wales. Short form? I've always thought he got a raw deal, and this was my chance to, as Arlo Guthrie might put it, rehabilitate him some.
