Via [livejournal.com profile] jaylake: It turns out that Keith Richards is a bookworm. A serious-enough reader and bibliophile that he has contemplated training as a librarian (that would be a hell of a class to be in...). And we have something in common! We both love libraries!
“When you are growing up there are two institutional places that affect you most powerfully: the church, which belongs to God, and the public library, which belongs to you. The public library is a great equaliser.”

Amen.

Damn

One of the problems with working the way I do--or have been on this book--is that stuff gets spread out. And right now, with no actual computer of my own to work with, everything is spread all over the damned lot, some things in notebooks, most of it in the backup files.*

There is a good sized chunk of book, just at the part I'm up to now, that I wrote longhand just after the computer died. I cannot find that notebook. I can find notebooks with every other expletive-laden scrap of anything I've ever written, but not this damned scene.

If I had long, razor sharp teeth, no one in my neighborhood would be safe. I need my new laptop now.

ETA: I found the right notebook, and will spend the afternoon transcribing every damned thing in it, whether it belongs to the WIP or not.

*what I generally did, if for some reason I was writing in a notebook rather than on my laptop, was to transcribe whatever I'd written immediately into the computer. But the last month or so, what with no computer to call my own...nada. Really, really must say damn.
