Meanwhile, in act iv
7/4/10 16:10my arm still hurts. Chiropractor says nothing is broken, just soft tissue damage (which is, of course, the stuff that takes longest to heal).
On the strength of that, I'm making strawberry shortcake for dessert, because I can. And African roast chicken (that's what the recipe called it--I suspect the chicken is rather more local than that). Also rice and asparagas, and a nice pinot grigio, because I am so tired of household-acceptable food.
Reviewed what I have of Part 3 of the Book today. It is not as close to completion as I'd like, but what I've got is solid, and I can see exactly what needs to be filled in. I've never written anything that took place over more than six months; this book starts when one character is 11 and finishes when she's in her forties (which was a good age for a peasant woman in 1200 or thereabouts). Sometimes I simply have to get from here to there without getting bogged down. It's an interesting technical challenge.
