Y Es Muerto, Jaime
26/2/10 16:37After a perfectly splendid morning, and lunch, I took the laptop in to the Mac Store.
It would cost between $400-700 to replace the logic board, particularly if there's any liquid damage. My Mac has something referred to as "I Book Fan of Death" disease, a known problem with geriatric Macs (this one is almost 5 years old--the one it replaced, which is the last Mac I paid for, was almost 3 years old when they replaced it). Buying a new iBook will cost something like $1000-1400 depending on what I decide on. Not so much of a brainer, that.
Meanwhile, after gale force winds and rain, the sun has (briefly) come out. Emily would like to go to the park, but that is not happening; I see black clouds seething to the west, just waiting for us to venture out of the house. So I have given her the Squeaky Toy and she is leaping upon it with great joy and ferocity, reminding me that she is a Very Dangerous Hound Indeed. In her own mind, anyway.
