Last night, noticing that I had a basket of grape tomatoes that were on their last legs, I tried something. Heated up a skillet, put in some olive oil and bit of butter (tomatoes and butter are one of the great unsung romances of all time) and a handful of chopped scallions, (which were also in danger of becoming something unpleasant), some rosemary, and some basil. Cooked until softened. Tossed in the the tomatoes, un-cut, lowered the heat, and sautéed them for a while (translation: until a few of the tomatoes burst). Then added some sliced mushrooms I had around the house and cooked until the whole was soft, about a third of the tomatoes had burst, and the resulting liquid in the pan was thickened.

Served with chicken and whole wheat noodles. Really, really good inspiration. Must buy more grape tomatoes to forget about until they're on their last legs...

But I think they would agree about The Twilight Saga, and be just a little chagrinned at being lumped in, visually at least, with Edward and Bella.
