All Over the Map
6/11/09 08:33Yesterday I went down to Sunnyvale for a meeting with a possible client. Almost two hours to get their via public transportation; two hour meeting; two and a half hours home, because Caltrain had to pull a scheduled train out of service for mechanical problems. Just as I was getting home I learn that the entire project I am supposed to work on is, um, on hold. Well, at least I got a lot of reading done.
And Avocado, after last week's craziness, had a bunch of work stored up that had to be finished last night because today is the end of the grading period. She seems to have finished it all (my attempts to ascertain this were met with statements about her stress level and how I wasn't helping. I suppose it is foolish to invoke my stress level at these times, and yet...
This weekend we have two high school open houses plus a public school fair. I sort of want to go to the movies for the next 24 hours and hide, but the dog must be walked, and there's Girl Scouts tonight, and I really want to finish the chunk of Book that I'm working on. And maybe, if I'm good, the sun will shine some. It's cold and clammy right now.
