madrobins: It's a meatloaf. Dressed up like a bunny. (Default)
Went to give blood today, and for the first time in thirty years felt in danger of passing out. Which mobilized all the Nice Phlebotomists, who swarmed around me with cold cloths and solicitude and kept me conscious. I was almost done with the procedure anyway--I'm wondering if maybe they over-anti-coagulated me a touch and I was reacting to that, or if my GI tract was just having a concurrent snit, because there was GI sequelae even after I was done with giving up my platelets and had headed for home.

Ah, well. Good deed done, but I've got a call in to the blood center to ask about reactions and stuff.
