Today is Avocado's birthday. There will be stuffed shells and birthday cake later in the day; meanwhile I have a cold, and she's at school, so no one is thrilled right now. It's also finals week for both girls, so no one is thrilled right now. A regards it as a specific blow against her personally that she has a math final today, and that today she has her last computer class (her computer teacher is not an inspiring teacher; A may know more than he does about some of the programs they've been working on). Tomorrow, with the dawn of a new semester, she gets to do drama instead; of course it's unfair that she has to wait until then.

Welcome to the teen years, when It's Unfair is the Merry Marching Song, my darling girl. We will survive this, somehow.

Okay, this is a fabulous thing. A kitten climbs into a suitcase, snuggles down, and winds up going through security and baggage handling, on a trip her owner is taking. Then (of course) the kitten's bag is taken by the wrong person, and instead of going to its proper destination it is carried off to Texas, where the guy unpacking the bag damned near has a heart attack.

I suppose we're all lucky it wasn't an exploding kitten.
