Girl Scout Cookie!

For the next two months my life is, in part at least, going to revolve around the ordering, sale, and delivery of Girl Scout Cookies. YG, who sold 560 boxes last year (up from 230 her first year) has determined that she will sell 1000. If not 1200 (the upper limit on how many you're allowed to sell). Girl Scout Cookie sales come in several stages: preorders (for the next three weeks). Pickup and delivery. Booth Sales. Reconciliation. It's sort of like the five stages of death, only without the denial. Girl Scouts do not deny; Girl Scouts are, in the words of one Wake Up song, "alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic!"

YG, who will go to her father's office to take orders this afternoon, has laid out her uniform, her order form, her "Gifts of Caring" certificates (want to buy something but don't want to have cookies lurking about? Buy a Gift of Caring and the scouts will give cookies to a food bank or send them to Iraq), her "Sorry I missed you; here's my email, let me know what you want!" cards to leave at empty desks. All she needs now is the orders. And me, trailing after her (per Girl Scout rules) to ensure that she isn't propositioned or mugged in the hallways of a San Francisco tech company...

Edited to Add: Okay, if you want to order cookies, please email me at madrobins@comcast.net, with your order, address, and Real World name, etc. We'll ship you the cookies as soon as we get them (reportedly March 5 is pick up day).
