madrobinsI generally don't play other people's universes unless invited (and paid) to do so--not because I disdain it, but because life is short and I'm mostly working in my own universes. But...
This morning at breakfast we were talking about SWEENEY TODD; YG, who hasn't seen it yet, wanted to know the plot, and as I outlined it, wanted to know what the term "ward" meant. "Like Dick Grayson was Bruce Wayne's ward, and therefore Robin," I said (yes, I know that continuity has gone to hell in a handbag, but it was good enough for coffee cake and bacon at 9:30 in the morning).
And suddenly I had this whole plot for a never-to-be-seen episode of JUDGING AMY:
"Mr Wayne? Mr. Bruce Wayne? I'm Maxine Gray from DCF, sir. I wonder if I might come in for a minute. I need to talk to you about your ward. His gym teacher reported that the boy has been seen with bruises, sir. Do you have any idea how Dick could have gotten those bruises, Mr. Wayne?"
