So this happened.

New College does not require academic regalia, and while I love the symbolism and theatre of the thing, I can see as how mid-May in Florida is not where you want to be wearing a black robe with hoods and stuff. So at NCF the graduating students can wear what they like. Like the guy in the shark suit, or Freddie Mercury, or the chap in the Hawaiian shirt, or the multitude of magical sorts.

And then there was my daughter, the Mermaid Queen.



I am immensely proud of her. She is launched and ready to take on the world. Which sorely needs her and her classmates.

Sailors would willingly fling themselves onto those rocks! She is almost too beautiful to bear. I want the world to be a better place to deserve her!

She fully intends to whip the world into shape and get it ready for her magnificence.

Also, please pass along to the Mermaid Queen that if her travels (swimming?) bring her up the East Coast, she always has a place to stay with me. It's 15 miles inland, but there's always room.

I will tell her. At this point she's heading to LA to live in the tiny garage apartment of my aunt's building and start her life-coach/peer-coach practice. **Boggle.**
