We're having our annual holiday party on Sunday, which means this week would be chaotic anyway--cooking, coordinating, cleaning. And I have my writing workshop in Saturday, which further compresses my available time-to-get-things-done. And my birthday falls mid-week: further compresses that time. And now, since YG hurt her wrist yesterday while ice skating (jury is out as to whether it's a sprain or a break--doctor's appt. later today) I'm going to have to help her with her homework all week (normally she does it at the Boys and Girls' Club after school). And she will be useless for some of the chores that I would have sicced her on (cleaning up her playhouse in the back yard, helping me string holiday lights on the tree in the back yard). And Sarcasm Girl can't take up the slack: she's got serious homework issues to deal with.

I don't know how much writing I'm going to get done this week, which is seriously irritating.

Update: the arm is broken, a "torus fracture." It's splinted for now, and she gets the cast put on tomorrow. Despite the fact that it's hurting a lot, she's being a good sport about the whole thing.
