A Goal -Almost- Achieved
18/1/14 12:08I'm trying to get the quarterly royalties accounting for Book View Café organized in such a way that I can get it done within 15 days of the close of the last quarter. This quarter, despite the hurting finger and other distractions, I made it in 17 days. This despite an end-of-year sale, many new members, and many new books. The little e-commerce thingie that could is managing to grow, and so far I've managed to keep up. And really, how many other publishers pay within a month of the close of a quarter?
For what its worth, I hate book-keeping, but the advent of spreadsheet software has meant that all I have to do is pay attention (rather than actually do arithmetic). And this way I have my sweat-equity contribution down to small, sustained bursts. If I had to talk about pricing strategies and promotion my head would explode and I would hide under the stairs weeping into my shoe.
