madrobins: It's a meatloaf. Dressed up like a bunny. (citibit)
Becca's at the SAT this morning, attempting to better last year's already-damned-good score.  Then we're going down to Santa Cruz to look over the UC there, and wander around the town and generally, um, relax.  And tomorrow (at last!) we're going to see the Renfaire at Casa de Fruta; Julie and her sweetie Joe are in the cast.  I find that I have little interest in Renfaires unless I'm working one--or maybe I'm just getting curmudgeonly in my elderitude.  Then home again, home again, to put out the trash and get ready for a short week.

And then on Wednesday, it's off to Iowa and Minnesota, and several colleges and heaven knows what sorts of adventures.  Work has been so crazy of late that I am 1) looking forward to the break and 2) terrified that I'll get so behind that I just sink.  Probably somewhere just north of it.  As I said to one of our Scholastic colleagues last week, "you don't get out of it that easily."

As she responded: "A girl can dream, can't she?"
