The Ladies Who Dine

Last year, as my readers may remember, Avocado had an, um, epic party. You ever seen a mid-80s John Hughes movie? Exactly like that, except better hair.

This year the girl wanted to go out to dinner with some friends. So I made a reservation for five at our favorite classy Italian restaurant, and the girls went down, dressed to the nines, and had dinner sans parents. When they were done the restaurant called me (I'd left them my credit card) and I came down and signed for the dinner. The hostess enthused about how sweet the girls were.

I'm so glad we were able to do this for her. They had a lovely evening out, and rose to the occasion by being totally lovely themselves. And so the kid has begun her 18th year in style.
