Juxtapositions
3/10/12 22:04The ride home on Caltrain was...well, we didn't wind up getting on Caltrain, because there were delays of over an hour. We shared a cab to the BART ($60 split four ways was not unreasonable) and BARTed back to SF, and... now I'm making a carrot cake.
But while I was on the platform waiting for the Train That Never Came™ I saw a young woman, short, blocky as to frame, wearing a flowered sundress that displayed a tattoo spanning her shoulderblades. And in her arms was Modesty: An Adornment to Life, which appears to be a book on the more severe of the Jewish laws concerning modesty. The commentary on Amazon is fascinating. But the juxtaposition of skin, ink, and book, was intriguing.
And then the train never came, and I got distracted. Oh, well.
