Avocado's adorable friend Vivie came over at 9am this morning to finish watching Spice World (which they'd started the day before) and have breakfast. The movie wasn't quite over when I had the cinnamon rolls and bacon ready, so they adjourned to the dining room, where the conversation went all over the place, from genealogy to race vs. ethnicity to the history of the Holocaust, to a documentary about girls in the Mission, to the politics of English language teaching with immigrant kids. After that the girls went upstairs to render themselves chic and adorable. And they just left (with the Spouse in tow) to see Bully downtown.

All over the map, in her compassionate, enthusiastic, thoughtful goofy way. It's like a rollercoaster packed into one 5' 7" girl.
