My annual bout of bronchitis is over, but as it usually does, it has left me with a memento: a deep, barking cough. And as is always the way with these things, the more I cough, the more I cough (the lungs spasm, which makes them tighten up, which makes me cough, which makes my lungs spasm...).
And I can't take anything with dextromethorphan, cause it disagrees with other meds, which means that most OTC cough medicines are out (stuff with gualfasine in it doesn't seem to do what needs to be done to stop the cough, and it's hard to find Buckleys or Fisherman's Friend or something equally vile and effective). So I'm treating it with cough drops and one shot of Glenlivet before bed. Honey-menthol cough drops and Scotch is a weird combination.
