On Tuesday I'm off to Renovation, the Worldcon being held in Reno. I've never been to Reno, but based on my experience of Los Angeles, I expect the people-watching to be lush. On Wednesday I'm going to Virginia City with [livejournal.com profile] scarlettina, [livejournal.com profile] kateyule, and [livejournal.com profile] davidlevine. Thereafter I will be at the con, doing Con-things. If you're looking for me, I will be most easily found at the following places or, failing that, in the bar or dealer's room. See you there!

Re: Tina Fey's new baby daughter, named Penelope Athena:
Per Greek mythology, Penelope was Odysseus' long-suffering yet super-crafty wife, while Athena was the daughter of Mt. Olympus' main man, Zeus.

Super-crafty? Yoicks.

Today I have cleaned out my clothing drawers; written and scheduled two blog posts (one for the BVC blog and one for Monday at madeleinerobins.com); finished hemming the Regency dress; shipped off a rented textbook that Sarcasm Girl had left at the house; brought the leftover clothes from Avocado's clothing-swap to Goodwill; gone looking for a new bedroom lamp (if I can get Flickr to allow me access to the photos I took at the lighting shop I will share. Garish doesn't begin to say it); and polished the dog.

All in all, I think I've earned my keep. Beginning to plan my packing for Reno. Avocado starts 10th grade on Monday. The week will be rich with event.
