I love XCKD so much sometimes. It's the rollover (which I think is on the webpage itself) which utterly seals the deal.

Per Keith Olbermann at FOK News Channel (FOK stands for Friends of Keith...really, people, sometimes I wonder...) it seems that an IT guy in Abbottabad, Pakistan, live-tweeted the whole take-down of Bin Laden without knowing what was going on. As Sohaib Athar put it, "Uh oh, now I’m the guy who liveblogged the Osama raid without knowing it."

It's a quick, fascinating read: you hear something going on in the next town over, wonder "what the hell was that?" and later find out, and, um, Wow.

All this being said, while I had no love for Bin Laden, and completely understand the jubilation surrounding his death, it makes me uncomfortable. Echoes of John Donne, perhaps, but it feels unseemly to celebrate any death. I'm glad it's over, but that's not the same thing as saying "I'm glad we've killed someone."
