As You Know, Bob, I am looking for a job.
I've been freelance for almost 15 years--but (aside from financial pressure) I'm getting tired of having to go searching for freelance work. A steady gig would be a really good thing. And all my agonizing about the process of job-seeking aside, I'm kind of psyched about going to work and using different parts of my brain (other than just the writing and selling Girl Scout cookies parts).
So, the question: in the past I've generally left my writing off my resumé because it caused potential employers to say things like "Oh, well, when you write that bestseller you'll quit..." or "You don't really want an administrative job, you're a writer," or something like that.
But that was in the olden days, when dinosaurs walked the earth. I don't know if things have changed. Anyone have an opinion? Writing on or off the resumé?
Clarification: my resume includes my copy-writing and ghostwriting work, but not my fiction. It's the fiction I'm asking about...
