madrobins: It's a meatloaf. Dressed up like a bunny. (Default)
First one in a while. Emily was going through her usual approach-avoidance dance about going outside: getting to the door all eager and hoping something wonderful awaited her, and then surveying the sog and slumping back into the house looking depressed. And then I had an idea, and took her down to the garage with the squeaky toy (where she couldn't destroy much of anything) and let her play for an hour. She is alarmingly ferocious, that dog, all bounding and squeaking and hopping around and, inevitably, pushing the squeaker under bookshelves so I would have to get up from my rocking chair and retrieve it for her.

Finished a sewing project, put up two new smoke alarms, and made dinner. And watched the new "Sherlock" on PBS, which is utterly ridiculous, but fun. I particularly love Martin Freeman as Watson, who simultaneously has gravitas and a sense of humor. And it's so important to Holmes that people know that he's not a psychopath, he's a high-functioning sociopath...
