Giant Bugs in Brooklyn!
22/8/09 20:41Tonight, rather than taking my hosts,
tnh and
pnh out to dinner, I bought lobster for dinner and we ate in. I haven't had real lobster (as opposed to the lobster tails available on the West Coast, which I'm afraid I regard as not the authentic experience) since we moved to San Francisco--in part because the wretched picky eaters in my household will not eat lobster because: Ew.
We named the creatures Wendell Wilkie (the smaller of the two) and Adlai Stevenson (the 2 pounder). It turned out, post mortem, that Adlai was actually Adlaine. Regardless of gender, they were delicious, and it was a privilege to know and eat them.
Happy now.
