Across the street from our house is a small, irregularly shaped greensward. Most of the year "green" is a courtesy term; it's mostly sorta brownish. But in the winter there is rain, and sometime around, like, now, the patch of nature across the street is lushly green. Today, as I was taking Emily for her Epic Drag, the DPW guys were there with lawn mowers. When we returned an hour later the 'sward was neatly trimmed, and the whole block smelled of chlorophyll and sunshine. Just lovely.
