madrobins: It's a meatloaf. Dressed up like a bunny. (Default)
(The above to the tune of the Dragnet theme.

As of noon we had sold all our cookies. Stayed to help Avocado's friend Olivia sell her cookies, then came back here to eat lunch, then went downtown to the Westfield Mall, where, for the first time ever, Girl Scouts were given a kiosk from which to sell cookies. The girls sold from 3-6, which means I was on my feet for almost three hours, on a marble floor. My back and feet hate me with (to quote Julia Stiles) the fire of a thousand suns, but I am awed by Avocado's sales chops. I'd look over and see her engaging people, keeping up a line of patter, selling five boxes to someone who had come over for one.

Tomorrow I count the money and figure out just how much over 1200 boxes we finally wound up being. Right now I'm home and lying on an ice pack. And cookie season (which ends, officially, tomorrow) is over for us.
