Yes,
jonquil, I'm being revoltingly, boringly good: while I did spend several hours sitting up and working on a deadline project that I had to get in to my client (and it got in, and I am covered in notfail™), I have otherwise spent the better part of four damned days lying on my back, alternately with a coldpac on my afflicted sacroiliac, reading, playing innumerable games of Klondike, watching TV, and fretting. As a result I am happy to say that I am moving about with none of those see-God-pain-spasms I was having on Wednesday and Thursday. I am being careful not to overexert myself even though I'm feeling better (that way lies relapse, and I ain't havin' any).
Today, the Spouse has taken Avocado out for three hours of cookie selling (bless him--it's his first time as cookie chaperone) and tonight the girl is going to sell cookies at a roller derby (!) at Fort Mason with some troop mates. Tomorrow, assuming it doesn't pour all day as threatened, I will take a folding chair and many cookies and the house Girl Scout downtown to sell from 9-12 and 3-6. But I will simply sit there and look all regal and inert.
In the meantime, I was able to shower yesterday, and will do so today. And I folded the laundry! (Doesn't that sound like Mrs. Keller celebrating Helen's accomplishment with the napkin in The Miracle Worker?)
I'm really hoping to be functioning by Monday or Tuesday because, frankly, this is deeply boring.
Thanks for all the well wishes, y'all.
