This morning's job listing from Monster.com, keyed for my saved searches on "administrative; coordinator" in the San Francisco, was (wait for it) for a Field Services Engineer in Melbourne, Australia.

Um.

As I do not have a Bacherlor's Degree in Laser Technology, I don't think it's for me. Anyone else out there? Bueller? Bueller?

We threw out Emily's old bed a couple of weeks ago. In the short term (since it was too large to put in the garbage bin) that mean leaving it in the basement with all the cardboard boxes that have to go to the dump. Alas, didn't do it quite soon enough.

We have mice. Not very aggressive and not very many, but the garage has now been cleaned, all the cardboard and the dog bed exported to Sunset Scavengers, and the floors swept and washed. Emily showed a certain interest in the reaches of the garage where the visitors had been seen--but it's possible she just thought there was kibble in the corners. I'm expecting that the mice will go somewhere else. Somewhere with less Dog.
