I wound up with a commission to make a wedding cake: chocolate with vanilla buttercream, white basket weave style with purple, white, pink and yellow flowers (bright--the bride likes bright). So here it is.

I am told it was a lovely wedding, and the small wedding party ate well--including cake. I wish them a sweet n' beautiful life together.

No, not costuming.

Got up this morning, made oatmeal and organized Avocado out the door (tho' not as thoroughly as was warranted--the kid forgot stuff, with later consequences for moi). Then spent a couple of hours tidying up the basement--not that we intend people to be partying in the basement on Sunday, but you like to look your best. Spouse went out for an appointment while I stayed and finally hung up all the photos and pictures that had been taken down in the hall when it was cleaned up and painted. Oiled the dining table, bride's box and the Regulator clock (the latter two were brought back from the Barn almost two years ago. Polished the brass sea captain's bell that was, for a long time, the "doorbell" at the Barn. When Spouse came home, took the car to go drop off Avocado's forgotten wallet/bus pass and her fundraising money for science class, both of which she had forgotten in her rush out the door. Stopped at [livejournal.com profile] klages's house to feed her cat and borrow her drill, then came home to put up the clock--finally, after almost two years. Took Sarcasm Girl to a doctor's appointment. Finished putting up the Christmas lights outside. Put up a couple of posters in the sunroom and kitchen. Made dinner. Calculated the number of hours I will need to cook the ham and the turkey for Sunday's party.

Tomorrow I start cooking like a madwoman. I may, in fact, be a madwoman. Film at eleven.
