In Search of a Rattle

I went to seven places today (okay, three were at a mall) trying to find a classic rattle: you know, sphere-on-a-stick, with rattly bits inside? Thing of the past, at least where I looked. I even tried a costume shop in case they had one. No joy. Rattles these days are shaped like frogs, or keys, or puppies.

Hmmph. Kids these days.
