Tonight I had to go to a Girl Scout sponsored dinner at the Odd Fellows' Hall downtown, and found myself at one point explaining to the Senior Girl Scout sitting next to me what "freelance" means. Me being me, this became a history lesson, then returned to what exactly I do when I'm working freelance, pro and con. One of the things I forgot to mention is that if you set your own work schedule, many people think you don't have a work schedule, and therefore ask you to volunteer for everything under the sun.
Then I came back to find an email from the Board of Elections, asking if I would pretty please volunteer to be a poll worker at the June 3rd primary. Me being me, I said "Oh, cool!" and immediately submitted my application. Watch this space for updates.
