Ribbed for Your Pleasure?

We went shopping for a kitchen overhead lamp this morning, and were more or less stopped in our tracks by a hanging light that looked like a huge alabaster condom with an extra big reservoir. Not ideal for a kitchen, certainly, where it would put me off my food every time I walked in. And after we saw that one, we realized that a number of other hanging lamps had the same exact shape. Not as massive and overcompensatory as the first one, but still.
