madrobins: It's a meatloaf. Dressed up like a bunny. (Default)
After a fairly good day (friend sleeping over last night, breakfast of pancakes and bacon, a cookie-sale training session (new cookie flavors! new protocols!) and a good practice session with her synch team, Avocado came off the ice asking me where her brand new coat was. "You wore it out of the room when you went to practice," quoth I. Apparently either someone on the staff thought the coat had been left behind when the public session ended and tidied it away, or someone from the public session decided it was too stylish for a 12 year old, and appropriated it. I'm hoping for the former, of course. But the poor kid has been utterly disconsolate all evening: she loved that coat, and had only owned it for three days. This sort of thing teaches a mighty lesson of the sort that merely saying "don't leave your stuff out unattended" won't touch, but still...Ow.
