Stop, Thief
3/6/06 15:01A few weeks ago I got a call from a car dealership asking about a credit request made in Younger Girl's name (the kid is 10; she's not buying a car, no matter how nice it is). Today we got a letter from Sprint denying her application for a cell phone plan. We're taking steps to protect the kid's future credit rating, but I can't deny that this is pretty creepy. (YG, who has been faunching after a cell phone for her own use, feels very bitter about the whole thing.) Whoever it is who got hold of the kid's name and address and phone number, they didn't bother to learn to spell her last name properly. I have to think that--if she were applying for a car loan and a cell phone--she'd get her own name right.
