Today's News
26/5/06 08:31Fully one-third of the front page of the Chronicle's Bay Area section was given over to this story: an X-ray of a sick duck taken at a bird rescue center that showed that the duck had an alien head in its gizzard. No, wait, it only looked like an alien's head. Or something.
When did the Chronicle take over for the Weekly World News? It appears that an underlying intent of the article may be to get a little ink for the Cordelia Bird Rescue Center, but the way it's written it's hard to tell whether this is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, strict reportage, Area-51 Goo Goo, or some fusion thereof. In the course of the article I did learn that the testicles of male mallards can swell up to three times the size of their brains during mating season.
