Knitting Query
8/10/05 13:46I am not your high-end knitter; I'm pretty utilitarian, and my only genius is, I generally get myself into projects that are more advanced than I'm ready for, and learn the advanced-er stuff that way. Last year I made zillions of scarves from this furry, hairy stuff--everyone got brightly colored furry scarves for Christmas/Hannukah, etc. This year I am working on a sweater for Sarcasm Girl (moss green, very pretty). When I finish that, I want to make a sweater for the Younger Girl. The problem is that most of the kids' sweater patterns that I see are so twee that I would probably barf while knitting, and she would never wear the finished product. What I want is simple adult-looking sweaters with no Disney characters, ballet shoes, or vehicles knitted into the front, and no frills, lace, or other glup added. Unfortunately, I'm not your high-end knitter, and resizing adult patterns down to the child's size completely defeats me. Anyone know a good source for plain kids' sweater patterns?
