Yesterday I made Elephant-Heart Plum and Ginger preserves. Yum. Today I'm making strawberry jam. Since the household consumption of jam and preserves is very low (like, except for the odd pb&j, I'm the only one who eats jam or preserves) it's kind of a vanity exercise, but I like making preserves. I enjoy the process. So I give a lot of stuff away. Last year I made "Miss Tolerance's Best Lemon Marmalade: Sweet, tart, just a little bitter" and give jars and jars of it away. Sarcasm Girl's voice teacher loved the marmalade; hope she likes plum preserves.
