Skating Season!

madrobinsAvocado's synchronized skating teams had their first competitions of the season (there are three teams within the larger "Tremors" Synch Teams -- Juvenile, Pre-Juvenile, and Youth; the classifications have something to do with proficiency rather than age level. Avocado is on Team One, which I think is the Youth team). All three won firsts, and the team as a whole won a trophy as "Best ISI Team" (ISI=Ice Skating Institute, one of the two ruling bodies of figure skating in this country).
I swear to God, I really need a guide book or user's manual for this stuff.
This Friday and Saturday evenings the Tremors are part of the big skating show at the Yerba Buena skating rink. There will be lots of solo and pairs and stuff, but in our household it's all about the team. (And I'm postponing my birthday until after the show. So much for seeing The Golden Compass on opening night.)
